I have an old cast iron ceiling fan that has a bad "wound wire" type fan capacitor in it. I would like to replace it with a new CBB61 type capacitor (that I got out of another fan.)
The fan motor has 2 wires that, when connected, run the motor. The capacitor has 5 wires and a diagram:
Orange Wire----| |---6uF------Yellow Wire
|-----|---4.5uF----Purple Wire
Orange Wire----| |---3.75uf---Red Wire
250V. AC 50/60Hz
Max Temp 70 degrees C...
I have a Pasadena ceiling fan that started sparking from the light sockets. The fixture sockets and wiring ring out OK and my guess is that the capacitor has an internal problem. It is a 4-wire capacitor CBB61 with the blue (light wire) supplying the light fixture. The original is a 3.5uf, 4 uf, 4.5 uf and the closest replacement is a 4uf, 4.5,uf, 5 uf. My guess is that it should work fine, but was curious if anyone has seen this type of a probl...
Today I saw a host of air conditioning have a capacitor, is CBB61 capacitor, this capacitor can have four legs, is not two separate capacitors packaged together? Not when I use this capacitor, they can use both parallel or series capacitors? But I just do not know which of two feet is a capacitor, the other two legs is another capacitor? Is not above a logo? The capacitors have no polarity do not know? Hope master answer, thank you.

CBB61 Capacitor used for AC Fan
This Hestar table fan problem was not rotating even if it already switched “On”. You could hear a sound coming from the motor and when I try turning the propeller (plastic blade) I found it to be stuck! By right a good fan when you turn it, the propeller should rotate according to the force applied on it. It could be the long time of accumulation of dust that had jammed the motor shaft preventing it from t...
